Katalyst.ph is a private venture office. Its Principal Investor is Joe Maristela—an active entrepreneur in the healthcare, business process management, and financial services spaces. Katalyst.ph was established in 2015 and incorporated in Makati City, Metro Manila (Philippines), with satellite offices in San Francisco.

    Inspired by Recursion

    Recursion is a tool a programmer can use to invoke a function call on itself. Fibonacci sequence is the textbook example of how recursion is used. Most recursive code if not all can be expressed as iterative function, but its usually messy.

    Joe Maristela has worked in healthcare and medical technology since 2004, serving on the board of numerous professional medical corporations and healthcare companies. Maristela is widely published and published about— domains ranging from healthcare to financial technology.

    Maristela serves on the board of PediaHealth Medical Group, a family medicine and pediatric medical providers network in the United States. He founded SBCPH in 2009 in the Philippines, and launched a family office in Manila in 2015.

    Joe Maristela continues his academic and scientific work today through numerous universities, including the University of California, San Francisco and Oregon Health Science University, most recently co-authoring papers in the field of telemedicine.
