The Philippines— Home to the world's greatest companies, products, and services...

Joe Maristela established a healthcare BPO (business process outsourcing organization) in Portland, Oregon in 2005. In 2008, he migrated this organization and operation out to Manila. In 2015, he was finally able to take a step back from the day-to-day.

His interest in technology brought him to local startup events, such as those hosted by A Space Manila. There, he met with founders and tinkerers. And in 2015, he seeded his first startup company in the Philippines—Satoshi Citadel Industries.

Investing and portfolio management isn’t anything new to Joe, however. During medical school and his years as a resident physician at UCSF, he was concurrently managing a small portfolio dedicated to health and medical-related products and services for his family offices’ accounts in San Francisco and Hong Kong.

Today, with his experience in outsourcing and his exposure to the contact center industry at large (worldwide) and the KPO industry in the Philippines, he knows that the Philippines has what it takes to become a nation that merely services and supports the world’s greatest products and services, to a country that actually produces the greatest products and services.

That’s Katalyst.ph’s mission: to be a catalyst for businesses and innovations that in turn can be their own catalysts for progress. “Accelerating progress” is the mantra at the office.
